Bennett at- lended the annual meeting of the Southern Association of Colleges ;^nd Secondary Schools at Miami Beach December 4-6. President McLarty devoted his lime to sessions of the Associa tion of Church Related Colleges, the Council for Small College&. and the Council for the Southern Mountains, all of which are af filiated with the Southern As sociation in its annual meeting. Dean Bennett represented the college at the meeting of the groups involving academic deans, registrars and admissions oficers. Dean Bennett was elect ed to serve on the Curriculum Committee of the Southern As sociation of Junior Colleges for i the 1981-1962 academic year. I i Both President McLarty and Dean Bennett attended general meetings of the Association of Junior Colleges and the Division of Educational Institutions of the Methodifit Church. Oliver Announces New 1961-62 PerteloteStaH Barbara Oliver, editor-in-chief of the Pertelote, has announced the 1961-62 Pertelote staff. Brevard Christmas Parade Is Termed 'Best One Ever" One of the most spectacular parades in Brevard’s histarx marched through its streets be fore hundreds of spectators on the afternoon of November 30. 196L Over 30 colorful and enter taining floats and units were presented by the leading estab lishments of the town. The bands of the Brevard, Canton, and Hes- derisonvLlIe high schools marciieS and played Christmas carols. Santa Claus came to town atop one of the biggest floats and had candy for all his little friends. Brevard College ^s wsH rep resented at the gala occasioK Miss Sally Maynard, the Home- oomlng Queen, and Miss Shirley Hammill, Miss Brevard of 1961 were among several of the beauty queens who participated..
